24th June 2004
Windsurfing: Oistins, Barbados
Wind Direction: Cross-offshore
Wind Stength: F3-5
Surf / Sea State: Small waves
Air Temperature: 29
Sea Temperature: 24
Weather: Sunshine and clouds
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Gusty wind all morning. Gybing improved in the gusts by heading upwind to gain control before taking the back foot out of the strap and then carving without bearing away first. Made quite a few gybes but tended to exit clew first. Problem is when changing feet; board either stalls on the inside edge or I fall in to the inside. Tomorrow try cranking the rig out of the turn.

Wind filled in after lunch with joined up gusts. Tried a 6.2 m Instinct which seemed more powerful than the Duke, and very stable. Board seemed glued to the water but managed a couple of chop hops. Serious speed on the way in, and excellent fun trying to gybe down the swell. 2 good sessions.
